Insidious 2 Movie - Insidious Sequel

Insidious 2 Film - Insidious Movie SequelI didn't have really high expectations when I went to watch the supernatural movie Insidious. But it's been a great surprise. Director James Wan did deliver a hell of a horror movie: it's not a copycat of Paranormal Activity, it's not even really trying to emulate that film, no: Insidious is its own powerful genre. And fans are now yearning for a movie sequel to Insidious. Well, ShockTillYouDrop talked to producer Jason Blum about a potential Insidious 2 movie. Unfortunately according to him there's no definite plan as of now:

I wouldn't say we're not considering it. There's no plan, no release date, nothing like that. I think James feels the same as Oren Peli. Oren was very skeptical about doing a sequel to Paranormal Activity until Michael Perry pitched an idea and it made sense. If scriptwriter Leigh Whannell comes up with a story that's inventive and you feel like there's a story to tell - as opposed to "let's make another movie and make money" - and he comes up with something James feels is worth making, we would do it. And if Leigh doesn't, we won't.
Producer Jason Blum

I think he's just trying hard to be modest here: the first Insidious movie grossed indeed more than $69 million worldwide for a shoe-string production of only $1.5 million. That's more than a fat margin, it's a goddamn insane margin! So you bet they're going to develop the movie Insidious 2, it's not like that many other profitable franchises to work on. There's reason to be optimistic regarding the sequel.

Here's the trailer of the first Insidious movie:
